2005 KIDS COUNT Conference Resources

Thanks to the dedication of the KIDS COUNT Network, the 2005 KIDS COUNT Conference was a tremendous success. 

Grantees returned to their communities with renewed energy and innovative strategies for helping America's most vulnerable children and families. 

Conference Highlights

A 2005 KIDS COUNT Conference highlight reel is available for everyone to view.

Plenary - Policy Matters

The new Policy Matters 50 State Report was distributed to all KIDS COUNT Conference participants.  This session provided an overview of the report's content, discussed the report's national roll-out, and gave a synopsis of how KIDS COUNT organizations can use the report in their on-going policy work on behalf of children and families.

Keynote Luncheon

From the Self Making Person to Opportunity for All: Rethinking Our Thinking On Race

Frank D. Gilliam Jr. and Susan Nall Bales from the Frameworks Institute shared their findings from a multi-year investigation into how Americans think about race.They detailed the implications for public understanding of such core concepts as discrimination, disparities and structural racism.
